Geraldton is where Dinosaur Tracks are found at the base of Gantheaume Point, (Name after a French Explorer that landed there to gain water for his Expedition further South,) and can be viewed at low tide, but care must be exercised as the seas there can be very torrid, as they were when We visited

Originally known as Gerald Town, as Lead Mines were developed in the early 1800 and more settlers arrived in search of Gold and Zinc, the town then became Geraldton, wineries have been developed in the Chapman Valley Region, and were (in my opinion) reaalee nice :)
The Crayfish wharf is very popular with the tourists as they can pick up good Lobsters when the season is on. and next door is a Fisherman wharf, for those that want to wet a line.
We spend 4 days here, and as we had to get back home by the 10th August , we were probably moving a bit fast, but we wanted to get to as many places of interest as we go, calling into Dongara, and Port Dennison, which made our mouth water, the coastal scenery and the beaches were great, we had lunch and moved on down to Green Head, Leeman,
