Kalbarri Caravan Park .. delightful place, very sociable "Top Tourist Park" a definite 4 star, plenty of shade, and lovely Bougainvilleas creeping all over the trees
Kalbarri National Park is cantered around the Murchison River, a truly beautiful River well shaded by River Gums, with a spectacular gorge about 85 k's long, and many ideal fishing holes, ideal for campers along the banks in the dry. the gorge extends thru what is known as the 'z bend', and has a marvellous lookout called 'Nature Window'

There are also plenty of bush walks to do in the Gorge and surrounding lookouts. Including 4x4 Adventure Tours, or Drive Your Selves .
Kalbarri has had its own Shipwrecks, and old history, including when in 1629Commander Pelsaert marooned two unfortunate men, Wouter Loos and Jan Pelgrom for their part in the Batavia mutiny, who were probably the first white man to settle in Australia, not by choice though. and is now called the Batavia Coast of WA. In 1712 the Dutch ship Zuytdorp was wrecked near Kalbarri, a mystery surrounds their fate.
Rainbow jungle the Australian Parrot Breeding Centre is rated as the most exciting attraction in the area. For those of you that are into Wildflowers then the Kalbarri Wildflower Centre is a must
