Page One Two Three Four Five Six We arrive at Streaky Bay, first name by the early explores because the bay has Streaks of Colour running through the entire bay water, quite unique. This area is renown for catching Razor Fish, why they are named fish I don't understand, as they resemble a Long this shell fish shaped like an Ice cream cone up to 18 inches high round on the top and tapers down to the bottom, they bury their bottom in the sea bed and poke out of bay at low tide. They are then plucked out by fishermen using a Hand held Grapple, The only part that is edible is the so called heart, about 2 inches in Diameter. and about 3/8 in thick,, they taste delicious fried in oil. We had them dipped in flour, with a curry powder added. The coastline is very spectacular very steep cliffs. similar to the Great Australian Bight, that really starts about here and continues for another 1500 km at least From Smokey Bay we travel North up to Anxious bay, Venus Bay and Port Kenny, while we looked around and had a lunch, we took in Ceduna, although we had stayed at Ceduna on our West Australian trip, we had decided to head back to Smokey Bay, as tomorrow we wanted to go across country to the North East and see the Wave Rocks (Pidtappa Rocks at Wadginna on the Eyre Highway.)
