Page One Two Three Four Five Six This trip is a relative short trip. to the Eyre Peninsula South Australia. Taking only three weeks in total, because of time limits. However I could have spent at least 2 months and still would have missed a lot! We have often gone past this Peninsula, and have made a mental note to go there and explore. This time we plan our trip to spend three + weeks there and travel around the full coast line. After heading to Port Pirie, then Port Augusta, we start to make our way to Whyalla, at the top of the Peninsula. we start our new adventure down the East Coast to Cowell. where we book into the Cowell foreshore park for 4 days, and look forward to some fishing on the Pier. This proved to be an exciting part of the trip, as I hooked into Four Yellowtail Kingfish and they gave me a run for my money. They ranged from over a meter down to legal length of 60cm. The first big hit was the whopper, and I played it for about 15 min, before I had him alongside, where at the last minute. he decided to sweep around the pier post and that was that... The second strike was very similar. and lost it also. but I got wiser for the last two, where I decided to 'go for the doctor', and set my reel to non slip, and scull-dragged him straight up to the landing. Seriously, Cowell is a place not be missed, as it brings back the early day of LIVING, well before my days I may add !! A good feed was had for the next two days :) I have tasted better fish, but I was not complaining one bit!. With a few squid ( Calamari ) thrown in, who could complain?
