Descending from the Tablelands, we go
through some Lush Green Countryside, a rich dairy area, where
you see opposite a Farmer in trouble with his cow at milking time :)
Brolgas in the park: These
beautiful Birds are normally found in the Bush around the
waterholes where they put on a Dance show at sunset, they are
normally hard to find.
Traveling through these areas you find
many farm stalls on the roadside, to pick up all your fresh
vegies, and even Fresh Barramundi, all available at very cheap
prices also
We found a beautiful Park to stay,
Tully Heads Caravan Park, Where we stayed for 10 day and the
Fishing was Great. Doug and Lorraine met up with us here at
last, after being separated for three weeks.
It was here that we had
the pleasure to meet George Duxbury and his lovely wife
Jill. George is an Author and Bushman Poet, I bought one
of his book that he has just published, and it was great, and
Jill is the Patchwork expert. we met three more times as we
traveled down the coast, and enjoyed their company a lot
George has also
published two book of Poems, and while we stayed there, he wrote
this poem about the Caravanners at Tully Heads, and Caravanners
in general.
Bramston Beach Plantation Resort it is the old favourite
of Bob and Dolly Dyer in his Marlin Fishing days, truly a lovely
place to rest up and and use as a base to visit surrounding
areas,
So we decided to spend 7 days here, and start some serious boat
