This is the start of a new
adventure into the Outback of New South Wales and Queensland covering
the the Towns that were settled in the mid 1800's by the early explores
that opened up the stock routes and Station for our Cattle Industry and
the early finds of Australia's Wealth in GOLD
Well. We are on the road again, this time to
North and East Coast of Queensland, to pick up some of the paces we
liked on the first Trip to the East Coast, and to find new places to
explore, The trip is planned for 12 weeks
This time we travel with family, my wife's
sister and her husband,
We have bought a new Tinny that goes on the
top of his Nissan Patrol 4x4, so hopefully the fish will bite.
I have a New Toyota Prado Diesel 4x4 to
cater for the bush tracks that we will travel over when we get to 'The
Outback'
We Start of in Melbourne and head through
the centre of N.S.Wales, until we get way up north Queensland where our
Holiday really starts this time
Basically we head for Gregory Downs Cattle
Station, where really start our adventure of Oz, leaving Melbourne we
head up to Yea, Seymore, Sheparton and onto Cobram on the Murray River,
and then we follow the Newell Highway up through Tocumwal, Finlay,
Jerilderie (Bushranger Territory) Narrandera onto West Wyalong, where we
spend our first night away.
We fill up with diesel here and make sure that all chores are done and
make our way to Mooree via Forbes, Parks (where the Astronomy Telescope
is situated) Peak Hill, Dubbo, Coonabarabran, Narrabri, then onto
Morree. 1100
k's from Melbourne, where we stay at the Hot
Springs Caravan Park for two days, and
relaxed in the Hot Pools at nights before we have a BBQ.
We now have to head Nth West through Mungindi
on the Queensland Border, where we join the Carnarvon Highway to St.
George, Surat, Roma, (Where our Natural Gas is piped throughout the
North of Oz)
then 250 k onto Emerald, via Springsure and then via the Gregory
Highway to Emerald
where we booked in to Fairburn Dam
Caravan Park for 4 days to try out for
the first time our New Tinny.
